Python: the programming language of 2007
Just read the article from TIOBE if you don't believe me. :-) Seriously though, I've been lurking on the moderator list for the python.org job board for years now. In the last year or so, I've definitely seen a change in the volume and type of jobs being posted. Python is clearly being used by many companies for serious applications. Combine this with the excellent work being done by the Python development team (Christian Heimes is some kind of machine) and the future looks bright for the Python language.
