Framebuffer console (fbcon) on a GDM-20D11
This is a quick note that might be useful to others. I have a Sony GDM-20D11 monitor that I got from a friend. It is multi-frequency but it only works with certain resolutions. I had to do some hardware hacking to make it work with a video card that does not do sync-on-green. I had X working on it okay but I wanted to have a console as well. The machine has a ATI Radeon card so I built the radeonfb module into the kernel and added "video=radeonfb:1280x1024@74" to the kernel command line.
